This lesson is just what I needed this week. I get excited about Spring and all of the icons that are associated with the season. It may be a little early, but I decided that I needed some bright, beautiful birds in my Art room.
Students created these by tracing the top of a bucket to make a perfect circle. After they cut it out, they drew a "V" at the top of the circle and cut that out, but saved it to use for the wings later. Next, they drew feathers, eyes and other details on their birds - front and back. The "V" that was cut-out needed to be cut in half to make two wings. And lastly, they added feathers to their birds - they LOVE when they get to add feathers to add to their work!
