Kente Paintings
My 3rd and 4th graders have been working on painting 4x4 squares to replicate an authentic African Kente Cloth. I think they did a really good job. We referenced the historical meanings behind the colors and they chose the colors for their paintings based on what they wanted their artwork to communicate. Here are 4 examples from my 4th graders:
